EdTech iOS App

Overview of the project
I developed the initial version of this augmented reality iPad app as the co-founder of Explore (now called MindLabs). Students can use this app to learn science concepts (e.g. circuits) without the need for lab materials.
Technologies
- Unity
- C#
- Vuforia
How it works
- Students place MindLabs flashcards on a table and hold an iPad over the table
- The app recognizes the flashcards and displays corresponding 3D models on the iPad screen (e.g. the models could be different components of a circuit like a battery, lightbulb, etc.)
- Students can interact with the screen and move the flashcards around
- Students use the above inputs to complete challenges such as building a certain type of circuit
Notes
- The core idea of this project/company was to enable learning science by doing/playing. It was rewarding to see kids engage with the app.
- The photos shown are from further iterations after the initial version I developed (I don't have any pics of that version, since this was in 2017). However, besides the quality of the 3D models, the core functionality was quite similar.
- I left this company in 2017 to focus on my studies (I was in college at the time), but the company continued on helping more kids learn, which I was happy to see!
